Six Months of Grueling Sailing

The fact that the Grand Finale is happening in Genoa makes it even more special. It is the first time that the final race is held in the Mediterranean and the first time in Italy. No Less Than Nine Spectacular Stopovers

The Ocean Race 2022-23 featured a captivating route with nine iconic international stopovers. Starting in Europe, from Alicante, Spain, the race journeyed to Cabo Verde, before the IMOCA fleet continued to Cape Town, South Africa, before facing the challenging Southern Ocean, followed by stopovers in Itajaí, Brazil, Newport, Rhode Island, and then back to Europe, to grace Aarhus, Denmark, and The Hague, Netherlands with their presence. Now, both the IMOCAs and the VO65s are arriving in Genoa, concluding an extraordinary adventure on the high seas. This version of The Ocean Race has been particularly unique as it both started and ended in the Mediterranean.

There have been a collision, brushes with orcas off the Spanish coast, and the first V065 - WindWhisper - crossed the line a day ahead of the rest of the fleet!
